What is an “ex libris”? It is a decorative label or image that is pasted, printed or stamped, in a book to indicate ownership. “Ex libris” is Latin for “from the books”, it is also called a “bookplate”. The earliest marks of ownership in books or documents date from Antiquity, Ancient Egypt to be exact. The current iteration of ex libris appears in Germany in the 15th century. Usually, the design has decorative elements that reflect parts of the owners interests or personality.
The process: after you have placed your order, I will write your desired name or initials. The text will be inserted into the design and sent off to be made into a beautiful stamp. After that, I will receive it, check that all is well, and send your stamp to you.
