The poster for my exhibition in June in Atelier du bain aux Plantes. The image for the poster is a painting of mine that shows a valley within the mountains. In the front it are more a type of hills in green, blue and dark purples. Afterwards you see a lake with a town next to it. Behind are high mountains, like the alps. This image is inspired by a view I had from the take off in a plane at Bazel. It has the title "Horizons", it is written across the image, at the hight of the mountains and seems to come forward out of the mist.

HORIZONS

Our gaze finds peace as we look towards the horizon. A vista, a space that opens up full of possibilities. Or, a moment of wonder in which we momentarily forget ourselves. A horizon can be a destination; whether this is something attainable, a dream or a nightmare, depends on the day.

In this exhibition, artist and illustrator Margo De Weerdt takes you on a journey through her vistas, her inner landscapes. Come and see, and be filled with wonder.

For this engraving by Margo De Weerdt, the monotype is first printed on the page. Its colours are pink, bright lemon yellow, light green and a light blue. They form the basis underneath the lino cut print in black ink. The lino cut is divided in two, one half is on one third of the image and the other part takes two thirds of the space. The one third has a black background. On it are a moon figurine, a house, a road, and one half of the main character, a woman with a sheet over her head that stops just above her ankles. It looks like a funny, a bit creepy, ghost costume. The two third part, has a white background, meaning you see the colours of the monotype, and there you see the other half of the woman. She is wearing a dress and holds a bird in her hand. The sheet covers only her head this time. Next to her is a landscape with a road and river, with mountains in the background. The sky has clouds with the sun peaking through. Made in 2025.
